How a pair of Brits got on at the big show

Two UK Ladbrokes players – Paul Kershaw and Nick Harris – ended up going deep and busted out within one place of each other. They finished 55th and 54th respectively, but unfortunately for Kershaw this one place was worth about $35,000. We caught up with Nick Harris after he was eliminated...

What was your strategy for the Main Event?
I just wanted to get through one day at a time. I wanted to treble up after Day 1 and then survive to make the cash. I didn’t mind if I ended one place after the bubble, I just wanted to cash.

What did you think of the standard of play?
Terrible. I thought there was some really poor play. Towards the end I found myself playing against the better players though, and there was very few weak players left. Before the bubble though it was awful, and for the first day I knew exactly where I was at all times.

And how did you go out?
I tried a squeeze play and ran into Aces. I just decided that was the play I was going to make but it didn’t work out.
