It might not sit at the top of the pile nowadays – that honour falls to Harrington – but ask any poker player to name a book and it’s Brunson’s that’ll trip off nine out of 10 tongues.
But Brunson’s legacy doesn’t end there. Todd Brunson, the mullet-topped Stud expert is also considered one of the top poker players in the world. And although he might have a way to go to emulate his dad’s 10 bracelets, he’s already snagged one in Omaha Hi-Lo, when Todd and Doyle became the first father/son combo to win bracelets in the same year at the 2005 WSOP.
He’s recorded over .6m in tournament play, but allegedly won .5m in one session in the Big game – the ‘session’ lasted two days. Proof that the apple never falls far from the tree.
