Got involved in a bit of late night drunken multi-tabling on Saturday night, Sunday morning. Got in half-cut about midnight, wifey went to bed, fancied another drink. I know, I'll open a bottle of wine and play some online poker!
Not ideal circumstances, I know, but what the hey, it's my weekend. My recollections of the session are somewhat dim, but multi-tabled a low stakes cash game with a succession $25 sit-and-gos, and was heavily up, after hitting some good cards.
With repeats of Glastonbury on the telly, I was having a great time, and not only that, a couple of hundred $$$ up. Mind you, by this stage I was playing with one eye shut so there was just the one screen to take care off (maybe an eye patch next time?)
I guess you can tell what's coming, a second bottle of Cotes de Rhone and too much attention to the chat box later I was about $20 down and the sun was coming up. Time to call it a morning. Great fun tho - I really must sit down and play online properly sometime...
In other news, everyone in the office is glued to the live updates from the WSOP Main Event not-so-final table (ten players playing down to nine).
It's actually quite dry stuff (someone raises, everyone folds)- but rivetting all the same. Play is understandably tight, but Brit Jon Kalmar is still there, flying the flag with a load of chips.
I'm pretty sure everyone in the office is also secretly imagining that they are there, playing on the biggest stage of all, and are looking forward to the imaginary monster payday. Go on Skalie!!
